Magh Mela 2027 — snan dates at the Sangam

The Magh Mela is held on the Sangam floodplain at Prayagraj every year. In 2027 it runs from Paush Purnima on Friday 22 January to Mahashivratri on Monday 8 March.
Kalpvas — the month of residence kept by families who return each year — runs from Paush Purnima to Maghi Purnima. We pack here, which is why this line exists at all.
The sequence
Snan is performed at brahma muhurat where possible — the window before sunrise — though on Mauni Amavasya the crowd decides more than the clock does.
Brahma muhurat at Prayagraj in late January falls around 5:15 am to 6:00 am.
The mela administration publishes its own snan schedule and crowd routing closer to the time. On the principal days, follow that over any date published months ahead — including this one.
- For Kalpvas, pack consumables in month quantities rather than single-rite portions. Deepak oil and wicks run out first.
- We deliver to shivirs at the mela ground during the mela — send the shivir name and sector when you order.
- Firewood, provisions and bedding are arranged at the mela; what we ship is the ritual consumable.
Festival dates follow the tithi and are computed for a location. Two panchangs for cities a few hundred kilometres apart can differ by a day. Confirm against a panchang for your own city before you fix anything around it.
